Rare Coca-Cola easel-backed counter display featuring Reece "Goose" Tatum of the Harlem Globetrotters. The colorful display pictures a near full-length image of Tatum in uniform while he simultaneously drinks a bottle of Coca-Cola and dribbles a basketball. The text along the top border reads "Reece 'Goose' Tatum Clown Prince of Basketball Star of the Harlem Globetrotters." The white lettering on a red basketball backboard reminds patrons to "Drink Coca-Cola in Bottles." In a bit of cross promotion, a white box along the base urges fans to "See all of the Globetrotters in their new feature length movie 'Go, Man, Go'." A 1953 copyright appears along the bottom border, but Go, Man, Go wasn't released until 1954. The cardboard sign (12 x 15 inches), which is complete with its original easel back, displays heavy creasing in the upper-left corner, a tack hole at the top, a staple hole at the bottom, a small tear and water staining in the lower left corner, and a few additional creases. In Good to Very Good condition overall. Reserve $200. Estimate (open).
