Presented is a complete 216-card set of 1933 R73 Goudey Indian Gum, one of the most popular and difficult to complete of all the 1930s gum-card issues. Its outstanding color, detailed artwork, and popular subject matter, all contribute to making this set one of nonsport collecting's all-time classics. Advanced collectors are well aware that Indian Gum cards are far more difficult to collect in high grade than baseball cards of the era, in part because they are considerably rarer. This is an extremely attractive complete set, with 80% ranging in grade from Vg to Ex (averaging Vg-Ex) and 20% grading lesser. Almost all cards boast bold colors, with the lesser-grade cards displaying varying degrees of creasing or flaws on the reverse, such as paper loss or pencil marks. Also included with this complete set are two versions of the colorful original wax wrapper for this set. Both are flattened for display and show normal scattered wrinkling, with the redemption variation grading Ex and the non-redemption version grading Vg. This is an exceptionally attractive and very consistent complete set of one of the most popular, substantial, and desirable of all 1930s gum-card sets.
