Postwar Baseball - 1970s to Present Cards
Five complete factory-vending sets of 1979 Topps Baseball. All 3,630 Topps cards comprising these sets were assembled and packaged directly by the factory. Our consignor purchased these cards in their years of issue as an investment and safely stored them away for over thirty-five years. The 1979 Topps set includes cards of Nolan Ryan, George Brett, Ozzie Smith (rookie), and Pete Rose. All the other stars of the day are also included. Almost all of the cards grade Nr/Mt or better, with the normal number of off-center cards that are to be expected. These sets have been consigned directly by a now long-retired professional photographer who provided production photos for cards decades ago, and who naturally had a great personal interest in the hobby. He put away many then-modern boxes and sets in case they would become valuable in later years; we believed that all were sold by REA years ago, but (following a recent move) he just found additional boxes in storage that were long forgotten! An outstanding collection of five high-grade complete sets of 1979 Topps baseball. Total: 3,630 cards (five complete sets).  Reserve $200. Estimate $400+.
