Graded VG-EX by PSA (submitted by REA). Presented is a very attractive midgrade example of this Babe Ruth classic, one of the highlights of an outstanding original-owner collection of Leaf cards consigned to this auction. The 1948 Leaf Bubble Gum card of Ruth is one of the most popular and striking of all Babe Ruth cards. It is on virtually every short list of the most classic and recognizable of all postwar baseball cards. The offered card is crisp and clean, with off-white borders framing a virtually flawless image which is centered just a touch to the right. Four strong corners showing just light touches of wear. The reverse displays very light wax staining and a tiny surface crease near the left edge, which prevents this card from grading higher despite its Excellent appearance. This is a very attractive yet relatively affordable (compared to what this card would sell for in higher grade) example of one of the icons of postwar-card collecting.  Reserve $300. Estimate $500+.
