Presented is an extremely rare and noteworthy printing variation from the classic T206 set featuring Harry Niles of the Boston Red Sox - missing the red ink printing process! According to T206Resource.com, T206s were printed in six different color stages, with red as the final color pass. This card appears to have completely eluded the last stage of printing as not even a trace of red is visible anywhere. This can clearly be seen by comparing it to a final-process card, which accompanies the missing red ink variation. Even at a glance, the difference is very striking. Niles is missing the red trim from the cap and the entire "Boston" team name from across his chest. T206 printing variations of this magnitude are rare. This same printing anomaly is responsible for the more well known T206 Sweeney "No B" printing variation (that in the early days of collecting appeared on all formal T206 checklists). T206Resource.com notes that most of the known examples missing the final red step of the printing process are Boston and Cincinnati subjects. The missing red ink variation is graded and encapsulated POOR 10 by SGC due to a series of creases visible on front and back as well as a small area of paper loss at the top of the reverse. The accompanying final process card grades VG 40 by SGC. This is an extremely unusual, interesting, rare, and very striking printing error from the T206 series. Total: 2 cards.
