Basketball signed by sixteen members of the 1983-1984 University of North Carolina basketball team, including Michael Jordan and head coach Dean Smith. All of the signatures have been scripted in black Sharpie upon a Wilson blue-and-white UNC basketball commemorating the club's 1982 NCAA Championship. The sixteen players and coaches represented here are Michael Jordan, Dean Smith (head coach), Sam Perkins, Kenny Smith, Dave Popson, Buzz Peterson, Joe Wolf, Curtis Hunter, Warren Martin, Steve Hale, Cliff Morris, Cecil Exum, Bill Gutheridge (coach), Timo Makkonen, Matt Doherty, and one other (illegible). The signatures are all fairly uniform in grade, averaging "8/9." The 1983-1984 season marked Jordan's third and final year at UNC, where he led the team to an undefeated record in the ACC (14-0) and a sweet sixteen appearance in the NCAA tournament.
