1951 Bowman #253 Mickey Mantle, boldly signed by Mantle in blue Sharpie on the front. PSA/DNA has encapsulated the card and graded the signature GEM MINT 10 and certified the card as "Authentic." One of the all-time classics in card collecting, Mantle's rookie card is the key to the 1951 Bowman set and one of the most popular and significant of all postwar baseball cards. While the card itself is available to collectors, signed examples are scarce. This is the first example we have ever offered and we have probably seen fewer than eight others at auction in the past fifteen years. Hall of Fame rookie cards have exploded in popularity in recent years and signed examples are likewise commanding the attention of sophisticated autograph collectors. This is an outstanding signed example of this iconic card and one that would be a welcome addition to any advanced card or autograph collection. The card is off centered and display vertical print lines, edge and corner wear, and light discoloration along the left border and top left corner.
