Postwar Baseball - 1950s Cards

Graded EX-MT 6 by PSA. One of only three examples graded at this level with none higher. Extremely rare 1959 Yoo-Hoo premium card picturing a striking portrait image of Mickey Mantle. A facsimile signature of Mantle appears in the lower left below the company's slogan "Me for Yoo Hoo." This is only the second example we have ever offered of one of Mickey Mantle's rarest and most striking cards (The first example, which was the larger-border variation, graded EX-MT 6 by PSA, appeared as lot 992 in REA’s October 2016 auction, realizing a final sale price of $36,000.) This is a very rare card! There are thousands of Bowman and Topps Mantles out there, and just a handful of Yoo-Hoo Mantles. It's just not the kind of 1950s Mantle premium card that turns up. The card (2-5/8 x 3-5/8 inches) is crisp and clean, with four strong corners, no creases or wrinkles, and the blank reverse is perfectly clean. This is a very rare Mickey Mantle premium card, dating from the late 1950s, that is on many want lists and would be a highlight item in even the most advanced Mickey Mantle collection. Reserve $1,000. Estimate (open).
