Prewar Baseball Cards (1900-1941)

Graded VG/EX 4 by SGC. Superb mid-grade example of a classic Babe Ruth card featuring him in his classic follow-through batting pose. Goudey must have also realized this was a classic pose, because of all the cards in the set, this is the one it chose to double print when replacing the missing #106 during production. This continues to be one of Ruth's most popular and recognizable baseball cards. Because of being double-printed by Goudey (there were exactly twice as many Ruth #144s printed as any other card in the same series), this card also represents the best value among the four Babe Ruth cards in the 1933 Goudey set. The offered card has brilliant colors, outstanding registration, light corner wear, and excellent centering. Clean reverse with bold green text. Awarded an MBA Silver Diamond by Mike Baker Authenticated for high-end eye appeal. A corresponding MBA sticker is affixed to the front of the holder.
