Graded VG 3 by PSA. Strong mid-grade example of Jackie Robinson (portrait, glove in the air pose) from the circa 1947 Bond Bread set. The 13-card set is devoted entirely to Jackie Robinson and features the Brooklyn Dodgers Hall of Famer in various black-and-white poses on glossy card stock. (Please note we are offering each card from the set individually in this current auction.) This example is bright and crisp with superb image quality and even corner wear. Light creasing and surface wear are present on the upper right corner. The back — which bears Robinson's facsimile signature and the tagline "Folks, why not eat the bread that Jackie eats?" — is boldly printed. The circa 1947 Bond Bread issue is a historic set, dating from Jackie Robinson's earliest days in the major leagues, and individual cards from this classic issue will always be extremely desirable.
