Prewar Baseball Cards (1900-1941)

Modestly graded example featuring New York Yankees Hall of Famer Babe Ruth in his classic follow-through batting pose. Goudey must have realized what an iconic pose this was because, of all the cards in the set, this is the one it chose to double-print when replacing missing card #106 during production. This continues to be one of Ruth's most popular and recognizable baseball cards. Because of being double-printed (there were exactly twice as many Ruth #144s printed as any other card in the same series), this card also represents the best value among the four Ruth cards in the 1933 Goudey set. The offered card has a bold image of Ruth. Graded FAIR 1.5 by PSA due to moderate corner wear, a small spot of paper loss on the right edge, and centering towards the extreme bottom right. An excellent opportunity to acquire one of Babe Ruth's classic cards from the popular 1933 Goudey Gum series and one of card-collecting's most iconic cards.
