Ticket stub issued for Game 6 of the 1912 World Series between the New York Giants and Boston Red Sox held at the Polo Grounds on October 14th. Graded POOR 1 (MK) by PSA. Many historians consider the 1912 World Series, which is the only World Series in history to feature a deciding Game 8, one of the most exciting Series ever played. (A few other World Series went eight games, but they were all best of nine; 1912 was best of seven, but included one tie.) Four of the games were decided by one run, and two games went into extra innings. The Giants staved off elimination in Game 6 by scoring five runs in the first inning off Buck O'Brien, which was all Rube Marquard needed to notch his second victory in the Series, defeating the Red Sox 5-2. The ticket stub (2 x 2-7/8 inches), issued for an "Upper Tier" seat, displays creasing, back damage, and the handwritten score of the game on the front, hence the qualifier.
