Very attractive mid- to high-grade complete eleven-card set of 1957-1958 Kahn’s Wieners basketball cards, the first and rarest set issued by the popular food manufacturer. Kahn's Wieners cards are one of the few food issues of the era and are far rarer than most other basketball cards issued in the 1950s. The very scarce 1957-1958 Kahn's Wieners basketball set features eleven members of the Cincinnati Royals, highlighted by the rookie cards of Hall of Famers Clyde Lovellette, Maurice Stokes, and Jack Twyman. Each card has been graded and encapsulated by PSA. This set currently ranks second on the PSA Set Registry with an impressive overall GPA of 5.93. PSA Grading Composite: MINT 9 (3 cards): King (highest graded, pop 2), Pointek (highest graded, pop 1), and Regan (highest graded, pop 1). NM-MT 8 (4 cards): Duckett (highest graded, pop 3), Ricketts (highest graded), Twyman RC, and Wanzer. VG-EX 4 (1 card): Marshall. VG 3 (1 card): Stokes RC. POOR 1 (2 cards): Lovelette RC and Paxson. One card was issued with each package of Kahn's meats. Because of the product with which they were packaged, heavy grease stains and creases are common with this issue, making it all the more difficult to assemble a high-grade set. This is a very bright and crisp set of one of the 1950s' most legendary rare regional sets. Total: 11 cards.
