Graded MINT 9 by PSA. Magnificent example of Paul Skenes' Rookie Platinum card from the 2024 Topps Update set. Numbered 1/1 on the reverse. Skenes has several desirable chase cards from 2024, but this stunning and unique example hailing from this extremely popular Topps series figures to be amongst the most coveted. The most ballyhooed pitching prospect since Stephen Strasburg, Skenes made his much anticipated Major League debut this past May. In his abbreviated rookie season campaign, Skenes exceeded even the loftiest expectations, finishing with 11 wins and 170 strikeouts in just 133 innings pitched. Skenes was so dominant out the gate, that he started the All-Star Game for the National League, becoming just the fifth rookie pitcher ever to do so despite having made only 11 career appearances to that point. The reigning National League Rookie of the Year, expectations for the young fireballer in 2025 could not be higher. This is an outstanding example featuring this ascending superstar.
