Graded VG-EX+ 4.5 by PSA. In addition to being his rookie card, 1952 Topps card #407 Eddie Mathews is also one of only a few key Hall of Famers in the rare high-number series, and as the last card in the set, is also a condition rarity. Just as card #1 Pafko was subject to wear due to gravitating to the top of the pile, #407 Mathews was also subject to excessive wear at the bottom of the pile. In anything even resembling high grade, this has always been a very difficult card to find when putting together a quality 1952 Topps set. The offered card is bright and crisp with vibrant colors and light corner wear. Centered to the left, this card is frequently encountered with centering issues. Boldly printed reverse. An attractive example that would be at home in any mid-grade 1952 Topps set or classic-card collection.
