Graded VG 40 by SGC. This is the ONLY example graded at this level by SGC with none higher! Extremely rare E107 Breisch-Williams series card featuring Hall of Fame pitcher Jack Chesbro from the New York Highlanders (later to become the Yankees) of the American League. The E107 Breisch-Williams caramel card of Chesbro is recognized as being his rookie card (only Foster Studio cabinet, W600, and M101-1 predate but each are large-format issues). Breisch-Williams E107s have always held a very special place in the hearts of advanced baseball card collectors. Issued in 1903, E107s have long been revered by collectors. This set represents the only major baseball-card set of the era, features many players who appear in no other sets, and includes the first cards ever issued of many important stars and Hall of Famers, including Chesbro. The offered card is bright and crisp with slightly rounded corners, a flawless image, and light creasing near his left ear. The desirable advertising reverse is boldly printed. This is a very attractive and desirable example of one of Jack Chesbro's rarest and most noteworthy cards.
