Presented is a superbly attractive near-complete set of seventeen different cards (out of 20) from the extremely rare 1909 Topping & Co. Detroit Tigers postcard series. The set includes players from the 1909 American League Champion Detroit Tigers. The fronts feature black-and-white player portraits in the center of a yellow six-point star with a traditional postcard reverse. All 17 cards in this near-complete set have been professionally graded and encapsulated by SGC (submitted by REA). SGC Grading Composite: VG/EX 4 (6 cards): Donovan, T. Jones, Moriarity, Mullin, O'Leary, and Schmidt. VG+ 3.5 (5 cards): Delehanty, D. Jones, Killian, Summers, and Willet. VG 3 (4 cards): Beckendorf, McIntyre, Speer, and Works. GOOD+ 2.5 (1 card): Bush. FAIR 1.5 (1 card): Stanage. This is a very attractive grouping of 17 postcards from this extremely rare series, which would make a superb addition to any Topping set, Detroit Tigers, or advanced baseball-postcard collection.
