Presented is a complete set of the 1962 Topps "Civil War News" series. Each card has multicolored artwork of a battle scene or historical event. The text on the reverse is designed in the style of a newspaper. The extraordinary artwork and accurate historical information presented on these cards have distinguished them as one of Topps' most ambitious projects. Also included is a complete set of 1965 A & BC "Civil War News" series, the international arm of Topps. These cards are similar in design to the cards issued in the United States a few years earlier, but are slightly smaller in size. Because these sets were issued in Europe, many American collectors have never seen these issues. This lot consists of the following: 1) 1962 Topps "Civil War News" Complete Set (88): Condition is 66% Vg to Vg-Ex, 23% Gd, and 11% Pr to Fr. 2) 1965 A & BC Gum "Civil War News" Complete Set (88): Condition is 44% Vg (including a couple Vg-Ex), 36% Gd, and 20% Pr to Fr. This is a very attractive complete set pair of these very interesting and popular nonsport issues. Total: 2 sets, 176 cards.
