Collection of twenty-six (twenty-five different) non-baseball cards from the N28 Allen & Ginter "World's Champions" set. N28 Allen & Ginter "World's Champions" has long been recognized as one of the most beautiful and popular of all nineteenth-century tobacco card issues. The set features champions and stars of the day from a wide variety of sports. Condition is ten Ex (including a few Ex-Mt), four Vg-Ex, four Vg, and three Gd, and five lesser (including one skinned). Three cards are factory cut a bit narrow. We have selected six cards for grading and encapsulation by SGC. This collection consists of the following: Acton, Bauer, Beach, Bibby, Bubear, two Carney (both Vg), Carroll (Vg-Ex), Dion, Frey, Gaudaur, Hamm, Hanlan, Hosmer, Kilrain (EX/NM 6), Lannon (EX+ 5.5), McAuliffe (EX/NM 6), McLaughlin, McMahon (skinned), Muldoon (EX/NM+ 6.5), Oakley (FAIR 1.5), Ross, Slosson, Sorakichi (EX 5), Teemer, and Trickett. Even the lesser-graded examples are particularly attractive and striking despite their technically accurate assigned grades. This is an exceptionally attractive group of one of card collecting's most classic issues. Total: 26 cards.
