Graded NM 7 by PSA. One of only four examples graded at this level by PSA with none higher! Spectacular high-grade example of Hall of Famer Ty Cobb from the E95 Philadelphia Caramel series, one of Cobb's most beautifully designed cards and the key card from this rare and classic 1910-era candy set. The image on this card is unique to the set. The E95 Philadelphia Caramel card of Ty Cobb is one of his most highly prized cards in any grade, but this example is just incredible in all respects. Cobb’s image is boldly set against the vibrant red background. The card is well-centered (slight tilt to the image), with large borders, a flawlessly bright and clean surface, and with just the slightest hint of wear to the four square corners. The reverse has very faint traces of caramel staining (noted for accuracy), with a sharply printed checklist for the set. This card is in magnificent condition for any card, let alone for a caramel card, which because they were issued with candy, one card per package, tend to survive in lesser condition than their more common tobacco-card counterparts. This card is a gem! It is a simply extraordinary high-grade example of one of Cobb’s most desirable cards from one of the most popular and colorful of all “E” card issues, and one that would be a highlight in any extremely high quality classic, Hall of Fame, E95, or Ty Cobb card collection.
