Very attractive mid- to high-grade near-complete set (12/13) of 1961-1962 Kahn’s Wieners basketball cards, highlighted by Hall of Famers Oscar Robertson and Jack Twyman. Missing only Los Angeles Lakers superstar Jerry West for completion. The very scarce 1961-1962 Kahn's Wieners basketball set features twelve members of the Cincinnati Royals (including for the first time the Royals coach) and also Los Angeles Lakers star Jerry West. Each card has been graded and encapsulated by PSA as this set currently ranks third on the their Set Registry. PSA Grading Composite: MIN 9 (1 card): Wolf. NM-MT 8 (4 cards): Boozer, Buckhalter, Reed, and Zeller. NM 7 (3 cards): Bockhorn (MK), Smith, and Wieseharn. EX-MT 6 (1 card): Nordmann. EX 5 (1 card): Embry (MK). VG 3 (1 card): Twyman (MK). FAIR 1.5 (1 card): Robertson. One card was issued with each package of Kahn's meats. Because of the product with which they were packaged, heavy grease stains and creases are common with this issue, making it all the more difficult to assemble a high-grade set. This is a very bright and crisp set of this popular and attractive issue. Kahn's Wieners cards are far rarer than most 1960s basketball cards and are one of the few food issues of the era.
