Original news photo of Hall of Fame first baseman Lou Gehrig in 1938. Encapsulated and certified as an original Type 1 photograph by PSA/DNA. The photo captures the legendary “Iron Horse” from the waist up in a batting stance. A "Wide World Photos" credit stamp appears on the reverse, along with a second credit stamp that reads "Received Examiner Reference Library May 26 1938," and the original paper news caption dated "5/23/38." A newspaper clipping has been affixed to the reverse as well. The photo (7-1/8 x 9 inches) displays light rippling throughout. In Very Good condition overall. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
