San Francisco Giants home uniform (jersey and pants) worn by Hall of Famer Frank Robinson as manager during his 1981 season. Graded A9 by MEARS. The white knit jersey is lettered "Giants" across the front and features the number "20" on both the left breast and reverse. "ROBINSON" is lettered on the reverse, directly above the number. (MEARS notes a "period restored" nameplate.) All letters and numerals are appliquéd in black on orange tackle twill. A "Wilson 42" label appears in the collar. Located on the left front tail is a white strip tag that has the player's number and year ("20 81") chain-stitched in black. Inside the front tail is a stamping that reads "Purchased From San Francisco Giants." Robinson has signed the jersey in blue marker on the front. The matching white knit pants feature a “Wilson 35” label and a white strip tag that has the player's number, year, and inseam ("20 81 25") chain-stitched in black. There are handwritten notations in black marker on the interior of the pants. Aside from the restored nameplate, both the jersey and pants are original as issued with no alterations, and display moderate wear. Graded A9 by MEARS (base grade of 10, but minus a point for restored nameplate). Full LOA from MEARS (jersey only; MEARS does not grade pants) and an additional Full LOA from James Spence/JSA (for the signatures). Total: 2 items (jersey and pants).
