Scarce player pin issued in commemoration of baseball's legendary "Peerless Leader." Frank Chance ended his long association with the Chicago Cubs in 1913, when he accepted the job as manager of the New York Yankees. This pin was issued to commemorate his return to Chicago on May 17, 1913, when the Yankees traveled there to play the Chicago White Sox at Comiskey Park. The design features a portrait image of Chance and reads "May 17/Frank Chance Day/Comiskey Park." This is just the fourth example that we have offered in the past 20 years. The red lettering around the perimeter on front has faded, and oxidation is visible on the reverse. In Good condition overall.
