The Dowd Report, prepared in 1989 by John Dowd, Special Counsel to the Commissioner of Baseball, was the document that provided the details of Pete Rose's gambling on baseball. Following Dowd's investigation and submission of the report, MLB Commissioner Bart Giamatti placed Rose on baseball's ineligible list, which effectively banished him from baseball. Offered is an official National League baseball (Giamatti) signed in blue and black ink by Rose (sweet spot), Dowd, Joe Daly, and Paul Janzen. Daly was one of Dowd's lead investigators on the case while Janzen was a key witness. Near Mint condition. Accompanied by a copy of the Dowd Report. The 225-page report (8.5x 11 inches), with its manila covers and plastic spiral spine, remains in Excellent condition overall. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
