Graded VG-EX 4 by PSA (submitted by REA). Exceptionally attractive 1952 Topps #311 Mickey Mantle. The newly-discovered example presented here has been consigned directly by the original owner, who pulled this card himself from a wax pack in 1952! One of card collecting's classics, Mantle's Topps rookie card is the key to the set, one of the most famous of all cards, and the single most popular and valuable baseball card, having recently claimed the title at $12.6 million in MINT+ condition. It has beautiful colors, outstanding registration, crisp white borders, and strong corners with light touches of wear. The reverse is clean with bold printing. A small wrinkle along the bottom border on the front contributes to the assigned grade. The 1952 Topps Mantle has long been recognized as one of the most iconic "blue chips" of all vintage baseball cards, and a glance at sales records shows that over the years it has consistently risen in value in all grades. This 1952 Topps Mantle presents a particularly significant collecting and investing opportunity as it is a tremendous mid-grade example.
