Graded VG 3 by PSA. Mid-grade example of this short-printed "Rare Leaf" rookie card featuring Cleveland Indians Hall of Famer Larry Doby. The 1948-1949 Leaf Bubble Gum card of Doby is the most popular and significant of all his cards. It is also a genuine rarity, being one of the forty-nine scarce cards in the 1948-1949 Leaf Gum Co. set. The offered card has bold colors, a strong image, and even toning front and back. Please note the reverse displays paper loss along the bottom-left corner and a wrinkle in the upper-right quadrant. This is a solid example of Doby’s most classic card, a key rarity for an advanced Hall of Famer rookie-card collection.
