This circa 1910 PX7 Sweet Caporal Domino Discs collection of 95 different (out of 129 players in the set) plus nine variations is highlighted by seventeen Hall of Famers including Walter Johnson, Christy Mathewson, Joe Tinker and Ed Walsh. Condition is 37% Vg-Ex to Ex, 46% Gd to Vg, and 17% Pr to Fr. The PX7 Sweet Caporal Domino Discs set is one of the most interesting, substantial, and overlooked of all baseball tobacco inserts. This classic 1910-era issue includes almost all of the great stars and Hall of Famers of the era. This is one of the largest groups of PX7 discs we have offered in the past 20 years. Missing the following thirty-four discs for completion of a basic 129-disc set: Bates, Bescher, Callahan, Chase, Cobb, Cree, Devore, Drucke, Grant, Griffith, Harstel, Hauser, Hoblitzell, Hoffman, Karger, Krause, Lajoie, Leach, McGraw, McIntyre, McLean, Meyers, Miller, Oakes, Parent, Pelty, Quinn, Rucker, Scanlan, Speaker, Stovall, Wagner, Wiltse, and Young. Keys: Baker (Vg-Ex), Bender (Vg), Bresnahan (Vg), Brown (Fr), Chance (Gd), Cicotte (Vg-Ex), Clarke (Vg-Ex), Collins (Gd), Evers (Vg), Huggins (Vg-Ex), Jennings (Vg-Ex), Johnson (Vg), Marquard (Vg), Mathewson (Vg-Ex), Tinker (Vg), Wallace (Gd), Walsh (Vg), and Wheat (Ex). This particular set also includes two significant variations (Moran and Mullin/correct spelling) and seven color variations (Barger, Doyle, Engle, Fromme, Konetchy, Suggs, and Wolter). Domino Discs are substantially rarer than card issues such as T205 and T206 (or even P2 pins) that were issued with tobacco in the same era. Because cards naturally get most of the attention among tobacco inserts, in our opinion Domino Discs represent one of the best values of all 1910-era baseball tobacco issues. Total: 104 discs (partial set of 95 plus nine variations). Opening Bid $500.
