The Southern Leaguers have always been appreciated for their scarcity and as a popular subset to the T206 series. They have also always been listed at a significant premium in relation to regular cards in the set. Presented is a complete set of all forty-eight scarce T206 Southern Leaguers, each graded and encapsulated by PSA. Thirty-one cards have Old Mill advertising backs (noted below); the balance feature Piedmont backs. PSA Grading Composite: EX-MT 6 (7 cards): Bay (Old Mill), Fritz (Old Mill), Greminger (Old Mill), Perdue (Old Mill), Stark, Thornton (Old Mill), and Violat (Old Mill). EX+ 5.5 (1 card): Paige (Old Mill). EX 5 (40 cards): Bastian, Bernhard (Old Mill), Breitenstein, Carey (Old Mill), Coles (Old Mill), Cranston, Ellam (Old Mill), Foster, Guiheen (Old Mill), Hart/Little Rock, Hart/Montgomery, Helm (Old Mill), Hickman, Hooker, Howard (Old Mill), Jordan (Old Mill), Kiernan, King (Old Mill), LaFitte (Old Mill), Lentz, Lipe (Old Mill), Manion (Old Mill), McCauley (Old Mill), Miller, Molesworth (Old Mill), Mullaney (Old Mill), Orth (Old Mill), Otey (Old Mill), Persons (Old Mill), Reagan (Old Mill), Revelle (Old Mill), Rockenfeld, Ryan (Old Mill), Seitz, Shaughnessy (Old Mill), Smith/Shreveport (Old Mill), Smith/Atlanta (Old Mill), Thebo, Westlake, and White. The scarcity of the Southern Leaguers has always made putting together a complete T206 set particularly difficult. This is a very impressive looking group worthy of inclusion in the finest T206 set or prewar-card collection. Total: 48 cards. The size/weight of this item requires that there will be an additional shipping charge for this lot. Opening Bid $5,000.
