Presented is an extremely desirable photo of Marilyn Monroe taken by American photographer George Barris, circa 1962. Encapsulated and certified as an original Type I George Barris photograph by PSA.DNA. This photo (one of six different featured in this current auction) is part of series known as "The Last Photos," all produced by George Barris during the summer of 1962. The photos were captured at a beach in Santa Monica, as well as a private home in the Hollywood Hills. The final photos were taken on July 18, 1962, just two weeks prior to Monroe's death. Barris was the last to photograph the screen idol. Although there are a large number of Marilyn Monroe photos, any original PSA/DNA Type 1 examples from her final shoot are some of the most desirable and rarest that exist. The photographer's apparent signature "George Barris" appears in the lower right, along with an ink stamp on the reverse that reads "The Private Collection of Kim Goodwin." Kim Goodwin was a make-up artist in the industry and was a highly publicized collector of Marilyn items. The photo (5 x 7 inches) remains in Excellent condition. Opening Bid $500.
