Wrigley Field has been home to the Chicago Cubs from 1916 to the present and was also home to the Chicago Bears of the National Football League from 1921-1970. Wrigley Field is the second oldest MLB ballpark (only Fenway Park predates it) and a U. S. National Historic Landmark. Offered is the original blueprint attributed to the renovation of Wrigley Field in 1937. The renovation included the addition of the now-iconic bleachers. The blueprint, which measures 35.25 x 42.5 inches, was drafted by the "Chicago Guarantee Survey Company" and is dated "May 15th A. D. 1936" in the lower-right corner. The signatures of the president of the company and the surveyor at the time appear along the base. The blueprint displays a number of fold lines, light creases, and a few small edge tears. This lot originates from the extraordinary collection of a longtime Chicago Cubs executive, Eldred "Salty" Saltwell, which is consigned to this auction by his family. Opening Bid $1,000.
