Babe Ruth wristwatch complete with original metal ball case and retail box. The watch, manufactured by the Benrus Watch Company, features Ruth's facsimile signature on the facing. The original ball case is lettered "Babe Ruth" on the lid, while the wood base is lettered "Benrus Watch" in gold. The fact that the watch cost $39.75 in 1929 is especially noteworthy, as this was quite a sum at that time, suggesting that this was a very fine watch. This may also explain the rarity of the watch itself. The watch is not in working order, but is otherwise in Excellent condition. The metal ball case has minor wear and is in Very Good to Excellent condition overall. The box (3.25 x 3.25 x 3.25 inches) has pencil notations written on a side panel. Gd condition.
