Addendum: The title in the printed catalog is incorrect. Collection of 1,270 Chicago Cubs business checks issued in 1920 (1,003) and 1921 (267). The signatures of two different Cubs front-office executives appear, respectively, on the front of the checks: John O. Seys and William Veeck. Also included are 41 bank ledgers, each with typed and handwritten recordings. The checks (8.25 x 3.75 inches) all have normal bank cancellation stamps and holes. Flaws included but not limited to: edge tears, folds, and creases. In Poor to Very Good condition overall. This lot originates from the extraordinary collection of a longtime Chicago Cubs executive, Eldred "Salty" Saltwell, which is consigned to this auction by his family.
