Outstanding signed example of Brooklyn Dodgers Hall of Famer Roy Campanella's rookie card from the classic 1949 Bowman series. PSA/DNA has encapsulated the card, grading the signature MINT 9 and the card VG 3 (submitted by REA). This is one of only two signed examples of this card graded VG 3 by PSA/DNA, with none graded higher. Campanella's rookie card is one of the keys to the 1949 bowman set and one of the most popular of all postwar baseball cards. While the card itself is available to collectors, signed examples are scarce. This is not only an attractive signed example but just the third we have ever offered. Hall of Fame rookie cards have exploded in popularity in recent years, and signed examples are likewise commanding the attention of sophisticated autograph collectors. This striking example has vibrant colors, even corner wear, and centering toward the left. Boldly printed reverse. Downgraded due to a couple light creases. The exceptional quality of the card and the flawless quality of the signature combine to make this one of the finest autographed 1949 Bowman Roy Campanella cards in existence. This is an outstanding signed example of this iconic card and one that would be a welcome addition to any advanced card or autograph collection. As a point of reference, the last Roy Campanella signed 1949 Bowman card (PSA FAIR 1.5 with 8 Auto grade) to appear at public auction sold for $69,000 in January 2024. Opening Bid $10,000.
