Graded EX 60 by SGC. Very appealing N172 of Hall of Famer Charles "Kid" Nichols (Pose #342-3), picturing Nichols with Omaha in 1889 just prior to joining the Boston Nationals the following year. Kid Nichols is, in our experience, without question one of the rarest of all N172 Hall of Famers. Nichols was issued only in 1889 and in addition to being one of the most difficult to find of all Old Judge Hall of Famers, it is also his rookie card. Bright and crisp, with even corner wear, solid photo contrast, and a slight diamond cut along the bottom edge. The blank reverse has a small stain on the top edge. This is an outstanding N172 Old Judge of Charles "Kid" Nichols, of all the greater significance as it dates from Nichols' rookie season. Opening Bid $1,000.
