Graded VG/EX 4 by SGC. Attractive example of Hall of Famer Lou Gehrig (three of clubs) from the W560 strip-card set. W560s were intended to be cut by hand to create a playing-card deck. Gehrig is one of the key cards (along with Babe Ruth) from among the forty-nine baseball players in the set. All cards of Gehrig are highly prized, but the fact that this card was issued in the key year of 1927 naturally gives it additional appeal. Bright and crisp with a near-perfect cut, honest corner wear, and a clean blank reverse. W560 cards are beginning to be recognized for the outstanding value they represent compared with most other vintage cards, and the offered example of Gehrig would be an ideal addition to any Gehrig, Hall of Fame, or strip-card collection. Opening Bid $200.
