Gorgeous professional studio photograph of 1919 Black Sox co-conspirator Chick Gandil. Encapsulated and certified as an original Type I photograph by PSA/DNA. The photograph is a stunning professional portrait, with the embossed seal of photographer (El Rose Studio) in the lower right. This photo was originally obtained at the sale of the Baseball Magazine archives at Christie's in 1996 and bears the special hologram label from that sale on the reverse. Gandil is credited by many as being the ringleader of the Black Sox. Following his banishment from the game, he became a plumber. The photo (4-7/8 x 7 inches) has Gandil's name noted in pencil near the upper left corner and editorial notations along the bottom edge, otherwise it remains in Excellent condition overall. Opening Bid $200.
