1961 New York Yankees ticket stub issued for the club’s 81st and final home game, against the Boston Red Sox on October 1st, when Roger Maris broke Babe Ruth’s single-season home run record. Graded GOOD 2 by PSA (submitted by REA). Maris’s epic blast, a solo shot, occurred in the fourth inning with one out against Tracy Stallard. Only 23,154 fans turned out that day in what was otherwise a meaningless game. As a result, ticket stubs from the game are scarcer than one would imagine. This is just the seventh we have offered in the past 20 years. The ticket stub (1.5 x 2-7/8 inches) has a small section of paper loss on the reverse. Opening Bid $300.
