On April 17, 1956, with little fanfare, Don Drysdale made his major league debut by pitching a scoreless ninth inning in the Dodgers' 8-6 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies at Ebbets Field. Offered here is an exceedingly rare ticket stub from that now historic game. This is just the second ticket stub we have ever offered from Drysdale's MLB debut. Although 24,236 fans attended the game that afternoon, the fact that the Dodgers lost and nothing eventful happened meant that few fans had reason to save their tickets. Little did anyone realize that day that the young rookie who took the mound in the ninth for the Dodgers would go on to become one of the greatest pitchers in franchise history. Graded POOR 1 by PSA, the ticket stub (1.25 x 2.5 inches) displays paper residue from album removal on the reverse, otherwise it appears Excellent from the front. Opening Bid $100.
