Spalding "Babe Ruth Home Run Special" baseball accompanied by its rare and fragile original box featuring Ruth's portrait. During the early 1930s, this was the ball of choice for most of America's youth and if there were any hesitation by consumers as to what ball was best, Ruth's photo on the box usually served to clinch the deal. The ball displays a few areas of light soiling and minor surface blemishes. All of the manufacturer's stampings remain bold and legible. The box is actually the rarer and more significant of the two related items, and is perfect for display with the ball. The box is technically in Fair condition because the top lid is missing and it has a few minor tears and creases; otherwise it is overall Very Good in appearance and ideal for display. Total: 2 items (ball and box). Opening Bid $300.
