Complete, original unopened wax box of 1979-1980 Topps hockey containing thirty-six unopened wax packs. Each pack contains ten cards for a total of 360 cards. The 1979-1980 Topps hockey set features the rookie card of Hall of Famer Wayne Gretzky, and many other Hall of Famers, including Ken Dryden, Gordie Howe, Bobby Hull, and Mike Bossy. While it is impossible to provide guarantees with reference to grading of unopened material, there is, of course, the very real possibility that within this box are ultra high-grade examples of these cards and others from the set. Given the meteoric rise of high-grade rookie cards recently, including the incredible $1.2 million public auction sale of a PSA GEM MINT 10 Topps Wayne Gretzky in August 2022, it is hard not to consider the increased value prospects of a completely original unopened wax box of this classic issue. The box comes shrink-wrapped by Baseball Card Exchange (owned by Steve Hart, the foremost expert on unopened material). The store display box is bright and bold with light-to-moderate shelf wear, including a bit of creasing.
