Presented is a fascinating, distinctive, and almost certainly unique printing anomaly of Chuck Diering (#265) from the 1952 Topps set featuring an overprint of card #311 Mickey Mantle on the reverse. This unusual card is particularly interesting as it is double-printed on the reverse. This is a fascinating printing error that was apparently used to test the presses or created in error, discarded as scrap, and amazingly wound up being preserved for seventy years. With 1952 Topps, quality control was so strong that printing anomalies of this kind are extremely rare and are even more rarely seen with such a striking and dramatic difference to normally seen cards. As expected, the card displays an irregular hand cut on all four sides, light creasing, and a discoloration on the front. The reverse is clean. Encapsulated by SGC as "Authentic." This is a very rare 1952 Topps printing oddity, which would be a worthy addition to any 1952 Topps, Mickey Mantle, or postwar-baseball collection. Opening Bid $1,000.
