1952 Mother's Cookies Complete Set (64) Including 43 PSA- and SGC-Graded Cards

Presented is a very attractive complete 64-card set of 1952 Mother's Cookies. The set is composed only of players from the Pacific Coast League and includes many who played in the major leagues. The cards (2-1/4 x 3-1/2 inches) have color photos on slick card stock, with the player's name and team on the front, and a foreign postage-stamp offer on the reverse. Along with Hall of Famers Mel Ott and Joe Gordon, this set is highlighted by five scarcities (#11, 16, 29, 37, and 43) and a minor-league card of Chuck Connors, one of only thirteen athletes to play in both Major League Baseball and the NBA. Connors is best known for his forty-year acting career, highlighted by his starring role in the popular television series The Rifleman (1958-1963). Forty-three cards are graded and encapsulated by PSA (34), SGC (8), and BVG (1). Grading Composite (PSA unless noted): NM-MT+ 8.5 (1 card): #12. NM 7 (2 cards): #10 (SGC), and 13. EX-MT 6 (8 cards): #14, 23, 27 (SGC), 32 Ott (SGC), 40, 42 (SGC), 47, and 62. EX 5 (10 cards): #4 Connors (SGC), 15, 24, 28, 30, 31, 34, 56, 60 (SGC), and 61. VG-EX+ 4.5 (1 card): #26. VG-EX 4 (14 cards): #1, 5, 6, 7, 11 MacCawley (MK), 17, 29 (BVG), 35, 37 Welmaker (SGC), 45, 46, 49, 50, and 64 (SGC). VG 3 (5 cards): #8, 16 Talbot, 21, 43 Erautt, and 59. GOOD 2 (2 cards): #51 and 53. The condition of the 21-card unencapsulated balance is 28% Ex to Ex-Mt, 48% Vg to Vg-Ex, and 24% lesser. Unencapsulated keys: #19 Gordon (Ex) and 25 O'Doul (Vg-Ex+).
