Graded VG 3 by PSA (submitted by REA). Beautiful mid-grade example of Jackie Robinson (portrait, glove in the air) from the circa 1947 Bond Bread set. The thirteen-card set is devoted entirely to Jackie Robinson and features the Brooklyn Dodgers Hall of Famer in various black-and-white poses on glossy card stock. The offered card is new to the hobby, originally belonging to our consignor's grandfather who was an avid baseball fan. It was recently discovered by our consignor while she was sorting through her grandmother's things. The offered card is bright and crisp with light corner wear (weaker top right). The back, which bears Robinson's facsimile signature and the tagline "Folks, why not eat the bread that Jackie eats?", is boldly printed. The circa 1947 Bond Bread issue is a historic set, dating from Jackie Robinson's earliest days in the major leagues, and individual cards from this classic issue will always be extremely desirable. Opening Bid $1,000.
