Graded GOOD+ 2.5 by SGC. Modestly graded rookie card of New York Giants Hall of Famer Willie Mays, one of the most important and famous of all 1950s bubble-gum cards. In addition to being one of the two key cards of the 1951 Bowman set, Mays is part of the scarce high-number series of the set (#253-324). The offered card displays bright colors, a crisp image, honest corner wear, and a vertical print line running through Mays' jersey. Surface wear along the front, a few unobtrusive wrinkles, and a small spot of paper loss along the bottom edge on the reverse (when viewed horizontally as intended) contribute to the assigned grade.
