Graded EX-MT 6 by PSA. Outstanding example of New York Giants Hall of Famer from the M116 Sporting Life set, one of the most popular of all 1910-era issues. M116s have always been highly appreciated by collectors for their distinctive style and rarity relative to the more commonly seen tobacco cards of the era. Christy Mathewson is one of the key cards of the series, and the offered example features the portrait of Mathewson set against a white background. The offered card has bright white borders, outstanding registration, strong corners, and excellent centering. The Sporting Life advertisement on the reverse is entirely clean and boldly printed. Downgraded slightly due to a tiny surface indentation along the bottom right edge along the reverse. This is a fantastic card, which would be a worthy addition to any M116 Sporting Life, Christy Mathewson, or Hall of Fame card collection. Opening Bid $10.
