Collection of fourteen cards from the 1911 T70 Misc. Brands "Historical Events Series". Each card has been graded and encapsulated by PSA. Issued in 1911, "Historical Events Series" is one of the most highly regarded and popular of all 1910-era nonsports sets. Each of the card fronts features a beautiful full-color lithograph of a great event in American history. The back of each card features a summary of the historical event pictured on the front and an advertisement for various tobacco brands. The tobacco brands represented are Hoffman House Magnums Cigars (9), Flexo Giants Little Cigars (3), Just Suits (1), and Buffo Little Cigars (1). This collection consists of the following: EX 5 (1 card): Perry on Lake Erie. VG-EX 4 (3 cards): Placing the Statue of Liberty in N.Y. Harbor, Surrender of Cornwallis, and Washington Crossing the Delaware. VG+ 3.5 (1 card): Dewey at Battle of Manila. VG 3 (2 cards): Inauguration of Lincoln and Sinking of the Maine at Havana Harbor. GOOD 2 (4 cards): Custer's Last Rally, Reading of the Declaration of Independence, The Landing of the Pilgrims, and Trial Trip of Fulton's First Steamboat. FAIR 1.5 (1 card): First Shot at Lexington.
