Graded FAIR 1.5 by PSA. Extremely desirable ticket stub issued for Game 1 of the 1954 World Series between the New York Giants and Cleveland Indians, held at the Polo Grounds in New York. Game 1 of the 1954 World Series will always be remembered for Willie Mays' spectacular catch off the bat of Vic Wertz in the eighth inning, That catch preserved a 2-2 tie, and the Giants won the game in the tenth inning on a three-run home run by Dusty Rhodes. The victory propelled the Giants to an unlikely sweep of the heavily favored Indians, who had won a then-record 111 games during the regular season. The ticket stub (4-1/8 x 2-1/4 inches) displays scattered creasing and surface damage along the left edge. Opening Bid $10.
