Fascinating and unique mixed-media artwork by noted baseball artist Curt Chaplin in 2017. This artwork represents forty-one different Negro League members that were inducted into Baseball's Hall of Fame prior to the year 2022. The artwork is composed of six baseballs that were taken apart, leaving twelve leather panels for the artist to execute his masterful work. Each leather panel features two to four subjects brilliantly painted in vibrant colors. Six of the leather panels are titled "Dreams Fulfilled - Negro Leagues - Hall of Fame." This unique item features some of the most legendary players of the game, including Jackie Robinson, Satchel Paige, Josh Gibson, Oscar Charleston, Martin Dihigo, Hank Aaron, Willie Mays, Roy Campanella, and Sol White. The artist has signed and dated each leather panel. It is particularly noteworthy that this artwork was on display in 2020 at the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum in Kansas City, Missouri. The paintings are in Near Mint condition and have been framed together to the total dimensions of 24.5 x 23 inches. The size/weight of this item requires that there will be an additional shipping charge for this lot. Opening Bid $1,000.
