Atlanta Braves home jersey worn by Hall of Fame pitcher Tom Glavine during the 1992 World Series against the Toronto Blue Jays. Graded A10 by MEARS. The white knit jersey is lettered "Braves" across the front, below which is the team's tomahawk logo. On the reverse are the number "47" and the name "GLAVINE." All letters and numerals are appliquéd in red on navy tackle twill with the exception of the name on the reverse, which is appliquéd in navy tackle twill. A 1992 World Series patch adorns the left sleeve. Located on the left front tail are a "Wilson" label and the year, "92," which is stitched in black on a white strip tag. Located adjacent to the Wilson label is a flag tag denoting the size, "42." Glavine has signed the jersey in black marker on the reverse. The jersey is original as issued, with no alterations, and according to the MEARS LOA displays heavy wear throughout. As one of the mainstays of baseball's best pitching staff during the 1990s, Glavine won twenty or more games five times during his 22-year career, and is one of only twenty-four pitchers to win 300 or more games (305). Included among his many achievements are two Cy Young Awards, and ten All-Star Game appearances. Glavine was elected to the Hall of Fame in 2014, his first year of eligibility. Graded A10 by MEARS. Full LOA from MEARS (for the jersey only). Auction LOA from James Spence/JSA (for the autograph only). Opening Bid $500.
